27th and 28th January 2018 (Auckland Anniversary Weekend)

Blue Lake Reserve, Tarawera Road, Rotorua

Five events, two days and one great location!

IMPORTANT INFO:

Parking will be at the top end of the Terrace reserve on Saturday. Marshals will direct traffic to turn right as they enter the park.
On Sunday, parking will be available for the whole reserve. There will be a coffee cart and an ice cream truck. For light meals and sandwiches, spectators can go to the Airstream cafe in front of the Blue Lake Holiday Park. Online entries close on Friday the 26th of January. Registrations made after Friday will incur a $10 late fee. First aid is available at the Peak Safety tent, near the start/finish line.

2km across the lake (and non-wetsuit Hinemoa swim)
Buses depart 3.20 and 3.40 from outside ski club and travel to Blue Lake out beach

750 m open water swim

The Physiotherapy Clinic Aquathon: 8.30am, Saturday, 27 January 2018


Physiotherapy Clinic

This is a ‘reverse aquathon’ 5.5km forest run then swim 800m.
The aquathon starts on the beach opposite the holiday park with a run clockwise around
the Blue Lake. Competitors will turn right off the road follow the single track to the lookout.
When you emerge from the track there will be a clearly marked transition area to take off
shoes and enter the water.
The swim follows two 400m laps. The finish line is the gantry up on the beach.

Pita Pit KidsTriathlon: 11am Saturday, 27 January 2018

In its THIRD year, the kids triathlon is a great first step into triathlon, or an ideal follow up from the Weetbix Tryathlon series. Categories for 4-7 years, 8-10 years and 11+ years. The distances will approximately be 100m swim/2km bike/1km run. Race briefing: 10.45am at the start/finish line

Swim T3 – 2km Across The Lake Open Water Swim: 4pm, Saturday, 27 January 2018

Starting at the far side of the lake. Competitors must catch a BUS from the outside the Water Ski club to the start at the Blue Lake Lookout. Buses will leave at 3.20pm and 3.40pm. All competitors MUST be on the start by 3.50pm for race briefing. Race briefing: 3.50pm at the Blue Lake Lookout beach

Start: 4.05pm at the Blue Lake Lookout beach.
The Hinemoa Swim trophies are award to the first male and female competitors that complete the 2km swim without wetsuits.

750m Open Water Swim: 4pm, Saturday, 27 January 2018

One lap of the swim course, in the beautiful & iconic Blue Lake. Starting on the beach opposite the holiday park, and finishing at the main gantry.

Race briefing: 3.45pm at the finish line

Start: 4.00pm at the beach opposite the holiday park

Cyclezone Sprint Triathlon: 8.30am, Sunday, 28 January 2018

Swim – One x 750m lap and exit water at main reserve. Transition will be situated on the grass next to the finish gantry. Cycle – 16km (Two 8km laps). Competitors exit transition onto the Blue Lake Access road and turn right into Tarawera Road. Turn left into Okareka Loop Rd and follow it up the hill to the end. Turn left back onto Tarawera Road. Complete loop twice. At the end of the second lap turn right into the Blue Lake Access road into transition.
Run – One x 5.5km loop. From transition competitors run along the beach, onto the footpath and turn right off the road into the single track. Run clockwise around the Blue Lake before emerging back at the finish line. Race Briefing: 8.15am at the Finish line
