  6. What bike (bikes) do you ride and what would you REALLY like to ride? I have a reasonable toy collection though none of it flash stuff. My 29er GT Peace single speed is my most used bike, my Avanti Carbonio also gets used a bit, the Raceline tandem gets the occasional outing usually with one of my kids on the back, my 1989 Rosin Marathon MTB is awaiting restoration and the unicycle I haven’t mastered.
  7. Out of the different disciplines, which is your most favourite and which one is the least favourite? The bike is my preferred discipline and swimming my least

  16. What would you do with all your spare time and money if you wouldn’t train and race and spend all of your and your wife/husband/partner/families money on sports gear you really badly need? Go karts.
  17. What event would you really like to do one day? Coast to Coast longest day, and Ironman
  18. Do you think swimming should be turned into an optional discipline in triathlon? Nope. I’m a very average swimmer, the challenge of the swim and pleasure of mowing others down once I’m out of the water along with the frustration of knowing “if only I swam better” is what in ‘enjoy’.
  19. Any suggestions for the club? No. The committee does a lot of great work which I appreciate.
  20. Favourite quotes? I have 3 – “Never sell a toy unless getting a better toy”, “Quit, you know, once I was thinking about quitting when I was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family, I got back on the bike and won the Tour de France five times in a row. But I’m sure you have a good reason to quit. So what are you dying of that’s keeping you from the finals?” lance Armstrong. “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming… wow what a trip!”
